Fares Diarbakerli, MD, FACOG
Dr. Fares Diarbakerli is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics / Gynecology (ABOG) and a member of both the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
Originally from Syria, Dr. Diarbakerli earned his MD at the Aleppo University School of Medicine. He went on to complete an OB/GYN externship at the University of Birmingham in the UK, then did a surgery residency at St. Louis Hospital in Syria. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Mount Sinai/St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, during which time he also completed an externship in GYN oncology. In addition to his private practice, he is an attending physician at Mountainside Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, Clara Mass Medical Center and Meadowlands Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology (ABOG) and a member of both the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
Dr. Diarbakerli is a recipient of a number of awards and honors, including Resident of the Year at Mountainside, a Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures Award from the AAGL, Best Teaching Resident award from Mount Sinai, and from Aleppo University School of Medicine, the Top Three Deans Honor List and the Bassel Certificate for Distinguished Study. With Dr. Haddad, he performed the first First Single Incision Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in the state of New Jersey.
Dr. Diarbakerli is published in the Journal of Pelvic Medicine and Surgery and a frequent presenter at medical conferences such as the 37th Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, the International Urogynecological Association, the Annual Research Meeting of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Annual Research Symposium at Seton Hall University.
