We can provide you with a naturalized childbirth experience but are also highly equipped to handle high-risk pregnancies and skilled in handling complications when they arise.

We want you to have a birth experience that is safe, pleasant, and memorable. We will work with you to make the experience what you envision while keeping a close eye on your progress and safety throughout your pregnancy. If any concerns arise, we will determine the specific options needed to assure that your delivery is safe for both you and your baby.
A high-risk pregnancy is defined as a pregnancy in which a condition, such as high blood pressure, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, or potential birth defect, place the mother and/or the baby at higher than normal risk of not being able to experience a normal healthy labor and delivery.

You may be experiencing a high-risk pregnancy if you have or have had any of the following:

• Repeated pregnancy loss
• Chronic hypertension
• History or current experience with preterm labor (PTL)
• Pregnant with multiple babies (twins or more)
• Gestational or type I diabetes
• Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH)
• Placental problems
• Pre-eclampsia/eclampsia
• Chronic hypertension
• Other risk factors as determined by your team

If you have any of these risk factors, we have the experience and skills you need to have a healthy outcome. Our advanced prenatal care for high-risk obstetric patients include:

• Maternal and fetal testing to evaluate the health of the mother and the baby
• Electronic fetal monitoring
• Pregnancy co-management with a maternal-fetal specialist

In addition, after delivery, your baby will be monitored by experienced neonatologists, pediatric surgeons, and the highest level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, when needed.
