Fares Diarbakerli, MD, FACO
Dr. Fares Diarbakerli is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics / Gynecology (ABOG) and a member of both the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
Originally from Syria, Dr. Diarbakerli earned his medical degree at the Aleppo University School of Medicine. He completed an OB/GYN externship at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and a surgery residency at St. Louis Hospital in Syria. He then completed his OB/GYN residency at Mount Sinai/St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, during which time he also completed an externship in GYN oncology.
In addition to his practice at NJ Best OB/GYN, Dr. Diarbakerli is an attending physician at Mountainside Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Clara Mass Medical Center, and Meadowlands Hospital. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including Resident of the Year at Mountainside, a Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures Award from the AAGL, Best Teaching Resident award from Mount Sinai, and from Aleppo University School of Medicine, the Top Three Deans Honor List and the Bassel Certificate for Distinguished Study. He was also one of the surgeons who performed the first single incision total laparoscopic hysterectomy in the state of New Jersey.
